Protégé Face Off - Part 1

The Face-Off round has started and this week the three mentors (Janno Gibbs , Jay-R and Rachelle Anne Go) show their set of Protégé to sing for their lives and out-sang everyone else just to impress the Panel of Judges.
The Judges is compose of Direk Bert De Leon (Eat Bulaga), Mr. Joey De Leon (TV and Movie Icon) and Guest Judge Mr .Homer Flores (Musical Director).
The show felt like I'm watching American Idol meets X-Factor meet The Voice.

Here's how i rank their Performance :

TEAM Rachelle - The Blasians
9. THE BLASIANS - Lady Marmalade
Disappointed. I thought this girls will be on the live gala night but this performance was a disaster. An awful Blending and Choreography. They are good individually but not as a group. SORRY!

TEAM Janno - Alejandro
8. ALEJANDRO- Broken Vow
Aljoe and Janbeth was good during the audition, but as a duo IDK, is it just me or the performance was not a contest material or it will work if there is a full band or an Orchestra. In short it was boring.

TEAM Rachelle - Regina
7. Rhey 'Regina' Otic - What Kind of Fool Am I?
He/She can sing. The only problem is she/he over-sing some parts at the end. Regina is annoyingly good.

TEAM JayR - Allen Sta. Maria
6. Allen Sta. Maria - Ikaw
Well, Allen did a pretty good job in this song (but i hope she chose another). There is some pitch problem but overall it was a decent performance.

TEAM Rachelle - Nomer

5. Nomer Limatog - Don't Stop Believing
A  cute little boy singing a Journey song. Awesome. He can really sing but I'm not yet convinced because he should study first and i don't think he can handle the pressure when the real competition begins.

TEAM Janno - Ricky
4. Ricky Deloviar  - Straight From The Heart
Well Done. He has a great deep voice and he rocked it out. But i agree with the judges (with the genre that he's taking) that he will be a Jovit 2.0.

TEAM Jay-R - Cercado Sisters
3. Cercado Sisters - Burlesque Song
This sisters were beyond good. They show how talented they are individually and as a group. They should go to Las Vegas and have a couple of show there.
TEAM Janno - Lirah
2. Lirah Bermudez - I Will Survive/Hush Hush
This girl has a lot of soul. She really amazing, the arrangement was pretty cool and you can feel that she is born to do this. Hands Down. I need a Studio Version.

TEAM JayR - Kenneth
1. Kenneth Monico - On Bended Knees
Save The Best For Last. The Vocal Acrobatics in his performance was Insane knowing that he is sick. You Already.

At The end of the show only 3 contenders will advance.
Team Rachelle - Nomer
Team Jay-R - Kenneth
Team Janno - Lirah

Overall the episode was good but I'm hoping for more. I'm happy with the choices except for Nomer, only because of his age (LOL). I'm expecting more great talents next week and hoping for a good show. I hope that when gala night started they will use a full band or an Orchestra.

DOMINO by Jessie J

Jessie J releases a new track (US only) entitled "Domino". Jessie J is a promising artist, she can really sing and has a potential to make it big to the international pop scene. The song received mixed review from the critics becuase the song was compared a lot to Katy Perry's Teenage Dream.

Domino is kinda like a Pop Party track, the melody and the lyrics was very catchy. The song itself was a feel good track and the first time I heard it , turned out that i really like it and it's my currently favorite track. It was written by Jessie J, Dr. Luke and Claude Kelly with production also by Dr. Luke (Since U Been Gone, Behind These Hazel Eyes, My Life Would Suck Without You, Girlfriend, Right Round, Tik-Tok, E.T., etc.).

Mr. Know It All Music Video

YES! The Music Video of Kelly Clarkson's Mr. Know It All is finally released.

I love this song. Kelly looks great or i can say she is gorgeous every time she will do a video. I feel guilty when I saw the video because she is not happy when her song is leaked online. But, I feel relieved that she is thrilled when fans really like the song that was leaked. And the video is calling the attention of press people (Paparazzi) that you don't know a thing about her so stop publishing news that is not true. HAHA.

So here's the Mr. Know It All video of Ms Kelly Clarkson, Enjoy!

Glee Season 3 : The Purple Piano Project

Glee is Back! And as i said to my previous post, I will try to cover this season through these music blog. As for this show review I will focus more on the music than to the show itself because i'm not so much type of a TV Geek (lol!).

Episode Highlights :
  • Jacob's Report.
  • Mercedes New Boyfriend (Marcus)
  • Lauren Zizes quitting Glee Club. (Oh No!)
  • Bad-Ass look of Quinn Fabray
  • The Food Fight. (EPIC)
  • Will and Emma as a couple. (How?)
  • Blaine transfer from Dalton to Mckinley High.
  • Car Scene of Rachel and Kurt
  • Burning Purple Piano
  • Will kicked out Santana from the New Direction

The  TUNES :

We Got The Beat
The New Direction sang "We Got The Beat" in the school cafeteria to recruit new members. The song was a perfect song to recruit members and the Rachel-Santana-Britanny singing the lead was just so good. I like how the song is distributed with these three beautiful ladies and Heather's (Britanny) voice improved a lot. Dancing on the table was impressive, but the effort of recruiting result to an epic food fight(LOL).

Big Spender
New Cast Member Sugar audition for Glee Club singing a Jazz song. This particular song works for Ellis (The Glee Project) but not for you Sugar. Seriously, i was laughing the whole time she was singing. This was the funny scene of the episode, Britanny and Will faces reaction are just priceless (haha) and this is also the worst Glee audition (worst than Rachel's The Climb).

Ding Dong, The Witch is Dead!
Rachel and Kurt duet! Woot! They are both talented individual but the song itself was too boring for me, I'm not a fan of any Broadway Show but For Good and Defying Gravity hit me at first listen, or the song itself was not my cup of tea.

It's Not Unusual
Boo Yeah! Blaine transfer to Mckinley. Darren singing a classic song was very cool and do not forget the dance moves that makes this performance fun.

Anything Goes/Anything You Can Do
GOOSEBUMPS! Harmony (Lindsay Pierce) nailed it. I love how she perform the song and makes Kurt and Rachel somewhat loose their confidence to make it to NYADA (New York Academy of Dramatic Arts). Hope she gets back for another episode because she is really amazing.

You Can't Stop The Beat
When i heard Glee is doing a Hairspray, Oh no! Please choose "You Can't Stop The Beat", because that's the only song that i like in that movie. Luckily they did! Rachel singing the first verse is just awesome, Mercedes and Tina getting a part is a good sign too.

Overall the episode was a good one, I'm just getting tired of the story about Sue hating the Glee Club and this episode reminds me of Season 1 after hiatus. Hope this third season will be amazing because Rachel and other ND members will graduate soon.

Avril Lavigne's "Wish You Were Here"

Avril Lavigne released the music video of "Wish You Were Here" which is her last single from her latest album "Goodbye Lullaby". This song is one of my favorite song from this album along with "Smile".

The video is extremely deep and it was touching. It was very different from her other music video that shows how tough she are. My favorite part in the MV is when she cry while singing this part " I love the way you are It’s who I am, don’t have to try hard" and of course the burning of the flower. She can really act and the video is something, no wonder it viewed almost 4.2 million for just 2 or 3 days from the time it was uploaded. It's my current Last song Syndrome.

Here's The Music Video :

Scotty McCreery's "The Trouble With Girls"

The American Idol Season 10 winner Scotty McCreery finally released his first single outside Idol, entitled "The Trouble With Girls".

Before anything else i must admit that I'm neither a big fan of country music nor a Scotty  fan(only because i want Haley, James, Casey, Pia or Thia to win that season #Bitter!HAHA) but this song is a good choice for a debut track. The song was interesting and McCreery is quickly creating his own unique style and sound, very different from his voice at Idol that boost a lot of comparison to his fellow country artist Josh Turner.

Listen Here :

“The Trouble With Girls” is the second single off Scotty McCreery’s upcoming album, Clear As Day, out October 4. Other songs rumored to be on McCreery’s debut CD are the uptempo “Out of Summertime” and title track, “Clear As Day.” As of today this song debut at number 54 on Billboard Country Charts with 24,000 downloads.

Mr. Know It All

KELLY IS BACK!

Kelly Clarkson Officially release her debut song "Mr. Know It All" from her fifth studio album "Stronger", which will be out on October 25, 2011.

Okay! I'm a big Kelly Clarkson fan and she is my favorite singer/performer ever cause she is great in studio and she is AMAZING live! My favorite KC songs are Sober, Beautiful Disaster, Walk Away, Judas and Addicted to name a few.

Back to the song, Mr. Know It All is the track that at first you will never think that it will  released as a first single by Kelly, i was thinking that it should be an album filler. Honestly, i was kinda disappointed when i first heard the song. I try to listen to the song again, listen very carefully and yes i liked it. The song needs a second or more listen if you don't like it at first (many of buyers on I-tunes have the same sentiments). And now, I really into the song.

Mr. Know It All  is different from her other debut track such as Miss Independent , Never Again and MLWSWY which is very pop rock and a usual Kelly C. anthem , this song is soft and mid-tempo and some of the parts are like "Just The Way You Are". The Lyrics of this break up song was all about a girl letting her partner know that despite thinking he’s got it all figured out, he doesn’t. I really like the part when she sings ♫ You don't know a thing about me ♫. That was insanely good.

What are your thoughts on “Mr. Know It All”? Does Kelly have yet another smash on her hands?

---HELL YEAH!

Rating 4.8/5

P.S. Don't just listen once, this song is a grower and after a few listen you will love it. :)
